Professor Mustafa Verşan Kök, Rector of the Turkish-Japanese University of Science and Technology (TJU), visited the University of Osaka on 16 June 2026 together with Professor Hisakazu Mihara, Provost of TJU, and Ms. Damla Gümüşkaya, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Nagoya. During the visit, he met with Professor Takao Onoye, Executive Vice President of the University of Osaka.
The participants exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in education and research, as well as expanding academic exchanges between the two institutions, particularly as TJU prepares to launch its academic programs.
Rector Kök also visited the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, where he met with Professor Takahiro Hara, Dean of the Graduate School, to discuss collaboration in the AI and Digital Technologies Program. Discussions also covered opportunities for academic cooperation, including faculty and student exchanges.
The visit provided an opportunity to explore new possibilities for collaboration between the two institutions and to foster closer ties. TJU and the University of Osaka will continue discussions on areas of mutual interest and future cooperation.
